Program Description:
PERFECT DAY, the new food, travel and lifestyle series from the producers of New Scandinavian Cooking, features mouth-watering recipes, breathtaking locales and a rotating cast of Scandinavia's best-known chefs and food-writers, including Andreas Viestad (Norway), Tina Nordström (Sweden), Claus Meyer (Denmark) and newcomer Sara La Fountain (Finland).

In each episode, one host embarks on a culinary adventure to an intriguing destination. Whether it's Nordström cooking atop a glacier, La Fountain hiking through the heavily forested region near Finland's Russian border or Viestad taking to the high seas in an old sailing vessel, the series showcases the very best of Scandinavia's culture and cuisine.

The Hosts

Sara La Fountain
Finnish cooking sensation Sara La Fountain's first cookbook, la Sara, earned her the prestigious Gourmand World Cookbook Award in the "Best First Cookbook" category. In 2005, MTV broadcast her 10-part television series of the same name, which featured recipes, party ideas and beautiful table settings. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, La Fountain now runs a cooking school, serves as a food columnist for several newspapers in Finland and currently is designing a line of tableware.

Claus Meyer
Claus Meyer has published 14 cookbooks in Denmark and hosted his own television series, Meyers Køkken (Meyer's Kitchen)on national Danish TV (DR1) from 1991-1998. He co-owns the gourmet restaurant Noma, which was awarded a Michelin star and heralded as a "Rising Star" in a recent edition of the Michelin Guide. He also acts as a culinary advisor, lecturer and assistant professor of Foodstuff Science at the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University in Copenhagen.

Tina Nordström
Tina Nordström's 2001 television series, Mat (Food) With Tina Nordström, broke new ground for cooking shows in Sweden. The series, which took its culinary inspiration from all corners of the world, met with instant success and Nordström subsequently was crowned Sweden's "Most Popular Female TV Host." Since 2001, nearly one million copies of her three cookbooks have been sold.

Andreas Viestad
For three seasons, Norwegian Andreas Viestad has integrated his remarkable knowledge of Scandinavian cuisine, culture and history, as well as his passion for eating and living well, into the New Scandinavian Cooking with Andreas Viestad series. A food columnist for the Washington Post, Viestad is also the author of a collection of award-winning cookbooks.
