CIRCUS DREAMS is a heartwarming documentary that follows the adventures of a sweet, funny and extremely bendy group of 12- to 18-year-olds who are living out their dreams within Circus Smirkus, one of the world's only traveling youth circuses. The film tracks these young performers from the audition process through to their intensive, three-week rehearsal period in the Vermont countryside, where they are coached by professionals from the Ringling Bros. Circus, the Big Apple Circus and Cirque Du Soleil. It then follows them all the way through their exhilarating and exhausting 70-performance tour.

CIRCUS DREAMS immerses viewers into the lives of these talented kids, capturing their intense work ethic, passion for performance, deep friendships and budding loves. It focuses on three compelling characters: Joy Powers and Maddy Hall, best friends and clown partners who are on a mission to prove that girls can be funny too; and Jacob Tischler, a socially uncomfortable teenager who finds acceptance among the members of his new circus family.

Their coming-of-age stories are told against the backdrop of the make-it or break-it Circus Smirkus summer tour. An award-winning, twenty-year old arts organization, Circus Smirkus is steps away from financial ruin, and the kids know that the future of the troupe rests on their young shoulders.

A beautifully shot documentary, CIRCUS DREAMS celebrates the sweat, pain and glory of kids pursuing something they truly love to do.
